Growing up in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne in the eighties ensured I was well versed in all things fashion, music and movies. I grew up reading Roald Dahl classics, marvelling ‘The BFG’ as absolute literary genius. Quite rightly.
The nineties saw me through my high school years where I was enamoured with series like ‘Flowers in the Attic’. I remember being entirely riveted. As I have aged, and had children of my own, the more disturbing the storyline becomes.
I’ve spent almost two decades in one of the most personally rewarding and yet under remunerated careers on the planet – nursing.
I have been dreaming of writing a novel for almost as long.
My passions include seeing an end to family violence. I am an avid supporter of the implementation of coercive control laws. Abuse of all types is abominable, and my hope is the more we talk about these previously ‘swept under the rug’ atrocities, we can work together for real and lasting change.
I live in a warm rural suburb by the sea with my adoring partner, two beautiful children, and pets. Together, we keep life interesting. But I could not ignore a relentless distraction dangling in my brain whenever I let it wander. One day I sat down and started typing.
I couldn’t stop.
